Plot
In the heart of bustling Seoul, nestled within the walls of a nondescript high school, lies a hidden world that only a chosen few can perceive. Ahn Eun-young, the newly appointed school nurse, is one such individual.
Gifted with the ability to see “jellies” — manifestations of human desires and emotions that can sometimes morph into dangerous, monstrous forms — Ahn navigates her days armed with a toy knife and a BB gun, weapons uniquely suited to vanquishing these spectral threats.
Her arrival at the school coincides with a series of perplexing incidents: students inexplicably falling ill, objects moving of their own accord, and eerie whispers echoing through deserted hallways.
Sensing a deeper, more sinister undercurrent beneath these seemingly isolated events, Ahn embarks on a quest for answers, determined to protect her students from whatever malevolent force lurks within the school’s shadows.
Assisting her in this enigmatic endeavor is Hong In-pyo, a reserved and enigmatic Chinese language teacher whose mere presence seems to emit a protective energy that shields him from the jellies’ malevolence.
Initially skeptical of each other’s abilities and motivations, Ahn and Hong reluctantly join forces, their contrasting strengths blending into a formidable partnership against the supernatural.
As they delve deeper into the mysteries plaguing the school, Ahn and Hong uncover a web of intertwined desires and regrets — the very emotions that give rise to the jellies haunting the students.
Each jelly they encounter tells a story, a poignant reminder of the complexities of human nature and the enduring power of unfulfilled longing.
Yet, amidst their tireless pursuit of truth, Ahn and Hong find themselves increasingly entangled in their own personal struggles.
Ahn grapples with the weight of her solitary gift, the isolation it imposes, and the toll it takes on her relationships with others. Meanwhile, Hong wrestles with his own demons, haunted by a past he cannot outrun and a future he cannot yet embrace.
Their journey is fraught with peril and sacrifice. They confront jellies that defy reason and logic, each encounter pushing them to their physical and emotional limits.
But with each victory comes a deeper understanding of themselves and the intricate tapestry of human emotion that binds them all.
Amidst the darkness, there are moments of levity and camaraderie — brief respites where Ahn and Hong find solace in each other’s company, forging a bond that transcends their shared mission.
Together, they navigate the treacherous terrain of adolescence, where the line between reality and the supernatural blurs, and where the truest dangers often lie within.
Ultimately, as Ahn and Hong race against time to uncover the truth behind the school’s mysteries, they come face to face with a formidable adversary — an entity fueled by the darkest of human desires, threatening to consume everything they hold dear.
In a climactic battle that tests their resolve and challenges their very beliefs, Ahn and Hong must confront their own fears and shortcomings to emerge victorious.
In the aftermath of their ordeal, the school nurse and the language teacher stand united, their journey marked by scars both seen and unseen.
As they gaze upon the quiet halls now free of malevolent spirits, they know that theirs is a battle that will continue — a testament to the enduring vigilance required to safeguard the fragile balance between the seen and the unseen, the real and the imagined, in a world where monsters lurk just beyond the surface of everyday life.
